Here’s a good news from the Communication Foundation for Asia (CFA): A Sunday Liturgy Guide, PAGDIRIWANG, focused on the Church of the Poor, the Basic Ecclesial Communities and the Challenge of the New Evangelization.

Wow, this is really something new, useful for individual prayer and reflection, for families and small faith communities like our BECs, for schools and adult catechism, for priests preparing their homilies, for religious sisters and brothers engaged in spiritual direction and pastoral action! Across classes, gender, age and even faith tradtions! Addressed to the modern human person in a globalized world!

How so? Well, these are its fascinating features:

1. It has a Catechetical Window that pursues the theme of the Church of the Poor, the inspirations and practice of Basic Ecclesial Communities and small faith communities and the situation and challenge of the New Evangelization. This means it makes these church documents popular and readily available to the people, to you… so that the dialogue between faith and life, doctrine and way of living, church and society is brought at your door, into your hearts.

2. There is a commentary on each reading and the responsorial psalm. This is a scientific guide to understanding the text of Sacred Scripture, in a popular way, in your language. For the Word is the nourishment of our soul, of our life, in our journey to eternal life, in our daily struggles for a better life, for fuller humanity. For holiness, for justice, peace and integrity of creation!

3. For priests and preachers, for study guide leaders and for everyone who delightfully proclaims the message of the Good News: there is a homily guide. It is composed of a summary message of the Sunday or Feastday Readings, some guidelines for pastoral scientific and experiential input and a guide to put them all together into a rich, meaningful but short theological reflection: doing theology in action.

4. In light of social media and modern communication, this liturgy guide connects us to the different faith-inspired and Gospel-rooted spiritual and catechetical formation materials: TV, YouTube, Facebook, Livestreaming and Publications!

All in a bi-fold PAGDIRIWANG that begins on the First Sunday of Advent, December 1, 2013! Available in English: Pagdiriwang; Tagalog: Pagdiriwang and Cebuano: Kasaulugan!

We in CFA invite you to try it: the Word of God explained in a new way in our new time!
