A book by Bishop Teodoro C. Bacani, Jr., bishop emeritus of the Diocese of Novaliches, Quezon City, and published by CFA, was launched April 17 at the San Carlos Seminary. Written in Filipino, “Yakap sa Dukha, Yakap kay Cristo, Yakap ng Diyos” addresses how even simple ways by even simple people can meet the needs of the poor.

Most Rev. Teodoro C. Bacani, Jr., bishop emeritus of the Diocese of Novaliches, Quezon City, was the keynote speaker n the first of the “Church of the Poor” lecture series, held at the CFA Seminar Room on March 12, 2015.
Bishop Bacani spoke on the topic: “Church of the Poor: the Church in the Philippines’ Reception of Vatican II.
The “Church of the Poor” lecture series aims at keeping the momentum, of Pope Francis’ visit to the Philippines. The 2nd installment is scheduled on April 22, 2015, with the topic “Agenda of PCP II – Priestly Renewal in the Church of the Poor”, with Fr. Catalino Arevalo, SJ.

CFA held its free Scriptwriting Summer Workshop for Comics, TV and Film on the Tuesdays and Thursdays of the month of March. The workshop was attended by out-of-school youth, from Santa Quiteria Parish, Caloocan and the Tondo Youth Association.
Clodualdo del Mundo Jr. multi-awarded scriptwriter and CFA consultant served as workshop director, Executive Director Noel de Leon, Publications Editor Jericho Natividad, and EMD head, Pie Fenomeno were the resource speakers. Jose Javier Reyes, movie writer and director, was the featured speaker for TV scriptwriting on March 19, 2015.
On March 26, 2015, the participants presented their final scripts, after which certificates were awarded to the budding scriptwriters. The workshop was made possible by funding from the LJP Foundation.
CFA’s Catechetical Congress and Workshop Seminar this year will be about “Creative Learning Strategies in Catechetics”.
The workshop will feature Sr. Paz Bandalan, FMA, who will focus on creativity applied in catechetics. Currently the department head of Auxilium Catechetical Center, Sr. Paz is also a retreat facilitator and trainor. CFA’s own Training and CRC Director Fr. Ben Alforque, MSC, will discuss “Catechesis: A response to the Call of the Church in the Year of the Poor.” Sean Herbert Siy, head of CFA’s Sales Department will teach advance PowerPoint production.
